Fiscal Note
The budget amendment contained in this Resolution increases the budget authority in the Building Improvements - North District - Capital Project of the 2009 Police Capital Budget by $98,765.00. This budget amendment will be funded by an increase in General Obligation debt.

The budget amendment needed is as follows:

Following the budget amendment, the funds for Contract 6161 will be available in the Acct Number listed on the attached.

WHEREAS on January 16, 2009, four construction bids for the North Police HVAC Retrofit - 2009 were opened; and

WHEREAS the low bid was H & H Industries, Inc. at $146,567.00; and

WHEREAS a construction contingency of $10,300 yields a total project cost of $156,867.00; and

WHEREAS the Madison Police Department has $58,102.00 in the 2009 Capital Budget to remodel the North Police HVAC Retrofit; and

WHEREAS an additional $98,765.00 of funding is needed; and

WHEREAS a budget amendment authorizing additional GO Borrowing will be necessary to allow Police to proceed with this project;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that $98,765.00 of additional general obligation borrowing be added to the Madison Police Department’s 2009 Capital Budget.

BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the following low bid for miscellaneous improvements be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the low bidder contained herein, subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 39.02 of the Madison General Ordinances concerning compliance with the Affirmative Action provisions and subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 33.07 of the Madison General Ordinances regarding Best Value Contracting; and
