Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Dane County, the Village of Shorewood Hills and the City of Middleton for the sharing of Engineering Design Costs for CTH MS/University Avenue between Allen Boulevard and Segoe Road.
Body
WHEREAS, Dane County, the Village of Shorewood Hills, the City of Middleton, and the City of Madison have determined that a part of CTH "MS" (University Avenue), is in need of reconstruction and will require the cooperation and financial participation from municipality;
WHEREAS, the cost of the highway improvement is estimated at $7,320,000 and will be financed with 50 percent Federal/State funds and 50 percent local funds and construction is proposed for 2011;
WHEREAS, the parties have requested that the City of Madison manage the project;
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the parties that there be joint financial participation in engineering, design and construction costs, which is estimated at $730,000, based upon the County's participation policy and the respective frontages of Shorewood Hills, Middleton and Madison.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk to Enter Into and Agreement with Dane County, the Village of Shorewood Hills and the City of Middleton for the Sharing of Engineering Design Costs for CTH MS/University Avenue Between Allen Boulevard and Segoe Road.
Fiscal Note
The estimated cost of the consulting engineering services, which shall require a design competition, is $730,000 of which the City of Madison is to pay $339,000. Funds have been authorized in the 2009 Capital Budget (project 810571).
