Fiscal Note
Funding for the 2009 portion of the contract is included in the Police Department's 2009 Executive Operating Budget. Funding in future years will require Common Council approval as part of the City budget process.
Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a four year contract for software support and maintenance services with Sagem Morpho, Inc. for the AFIS Workstation.
Body
Whereas, the Madison Police Department for itself, currently uses an AFIS workstation for the identification and analysis of fingerprint evidence; and,
Whereas, the City has had a software maintenance and licensing agreement with Sagem Morpho Inc. since June 2003; and,
Whereas, no other software vendors provide maintenance and support for the AFIS workstation; and,
Whereas, the 2009 agreement sets forth the terms and conditions by which Sagem Morpho Inc provides on site support and maintenance to users of the software; as well as updates to the software and other technical support necessary to keep the police department AFIS system functioning; as well as on site training; and,
Whereas, the 2008 agreement will expire on December 31, 2008 and needs to be updated to reflect all of the software modules currently in use by the City; and,
Whereas, the City has received a quote for fixed pricing to continue the necessary software maintenance and support services, for 2009 through 2012 as follows:
$13,099.20 for 2009
$13,754.16 for 2010
$14,441.87 for 2011
$15,163.87 for 2012
; and,
Whereas, under APM 1-1 and MGO 4.26 service contracts for more than $50,000 or with a duration of more than 12 months must be individually authorized by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign a four (4) year contract for software support and maintenance services with Sagem Morpho, Inc. at the prices set forth above.
