Authorizing the execution of an Overhead Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of public greenway in the Park Addition to Meadowood located at 6105 Hammersley Road.
Body
WHEREAS, The City Engineering Division has been asked to install an outdoor light fixture to serve a public pedestrian pathway that traverses the greenway at 6105 Hammersley Road; and
 
WHEREAS, the proposed outdoor light fixture is being installed to provide security for pedestrians using the public pedestrian pathway; and
 
WHEREAS, the installation of the outdoor light fixture will require the extension of an overhead electric service from an existing Madison Gas and Electric Company ("MG&E") power pole, located approximately twenty feet to the southwest of the proposed light fixture location; and      
 
WHEREAS, as part of the installation, MG&E has requested a six (6) foot wide overhead electric line easement ("Easement") across a portion of public greenway at 6105 Hammersley Road; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division has reviewed and approve of the Easement.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Overhead Electric Line Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:
 
A strip of land, six (6) feet in width, located in part of the Outlot 72, Park Addition to Meadowood, in the SEĀ¼ of Section 36, Town 7 North, Range 8 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said easement strip being more particularly described as follows:
 
A six (6) foot strip of land, commencing at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 52, Park Addition to Meadowood, Document No. 1221894, in Volume 34, Page 29 of Plats as recorded at the Dane County Register of Deeds Office; thence Northeasterly twenty (20) feet, more or less, to a point of termination.
 
The Easement is depicted as set forth on attached Exhibit A.
