Amending Section 3.12(2) of the Madison General Ordinances to reflect the renaming of the Neighborhood Preservation and Inspection Division to the Building Inspection Division and to update existing references in various Chapters to reflect the change in the Division name.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance reinstates the name Building Inspection in the place of Neighborhood Preservation and Inspection for the Division in the Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development.  The prior name change was made in the reorganization of the Department.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1.      Subsection (2) entitled "Composition of Department" of Section 3.12 entitled "Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"(2)      Composition of Department. The Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development shall consist of a Director of Planning and Community and Economic Development, the Planning Division, the Neighborhood Preservation and Building Inspection Division, the Economic Development Division, the Community Development Division, and the Housing Operations Division."
2.      All other necessary sections throughout the ordinances are amended to update references to reflect the change in the Division name, and the City Attorney is directed to make such changes.
