Fiscal Note
The budget amendment contained in this Resolution increases the budget authority in the General Building Improvements Capital Project (Project 3, 810341) of the 2008 Fire Capital Budget by $40,155. This budget amendment will be funded through a transfer of funds from Facilities Management’s Building Improvement fund (810423).
The budget amendment needed is as follows:

The journal entry necessary for the transfer of funds from Facilities Management to Fire is as follows:

Following the budget amendment, the funds for Contract 6195 will be available in the Acct Number listed on the attached.

Amending the 2008 Fire Capital Budget and Awarding Public Works Contract No. 6195, Fire Station #5 Remodel - Phase II to Miron Construction Co., Inc.
Body
WHEREAS on August 29, 2008, five construction bids for the Fire Station # 5 Remodeling project were opened; and
WHEREAS the low bid was Miron Construction at $163,015; and
WHEREAS a construction contingency of $13,000 yields a total project cost of $176,015; and
WHEREAS the Madison Fire Department has $135,860 in the 2008 Capital Budget to remodel Fire Station #5; and
WHEREAS Facilities Management will provide the remaining $40,155 of funding; and
WHEREAS a budget amendment will be necessary to allow Fire to use these funds for the project;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that $40,155 of funds from the Facilities Management Building Improvement Fund be transferred to Fire; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2008 Fire Capital Budget be amended to include this $40,155 of funding transferred in from Facilities Management; and
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the following low bid for miscellaneous improvements be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract ...
