Fiscal Note
Under terms of the agreement, the City will provide Police ($4,188), Fire ($650), Parks ($2,860), and miscellaneous services ($550) for a total estimated cost of $8,248. The Contractor will pay $2,055 in various permit and scheduling fees, and will also pay actual costs of Police staffing, and for the Parks employee on duty at an hourly rate of $44.08 No additional appropriation is necessary.

To authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a lease agreement between the City and Madison Opera Inc., for use of Garner Park on July 26, 2008, for Opera in the Park.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Opera Inc wishes to use City-owned Garner Park as the site of Opera in the Park to be held July 26, 2008, with a rain date of July 27, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council finds that it is in the public interest to provide the use of Garner Park, City services and equipment at cost to Madison Opera in support of Opera in the Park, a community event free to the public; and
WHEREAS, a lease agreement is the most efficient way to record the specific terms and conditions of Madison Opera's use of City park land for its Opera in the Park event.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a lease agreement on behalf of the City with Madison Opera Inc., for its use of Garner Park and City services and equipment for Opera in the Park to be held on July 26, 2008, with a rain date of July 27, 2008.
