Accepting an Employment Report from the Allied Area Task Force.
Body
WHEREAS, the Allied Task Force was created to make recommendations to the Mayor and the Common Council regarding a focused set of strategies to strengthen the Allied area neighborhood, and;
WHEREAS, the Allied Area Task Force selected three areas of concentration for in-depth study and discussion, one of those area being employment, and;
WHEREAS, the Allied Area Task Force appointed a subcommittee in late 2007 to study the issue of employment make recommendations to improve the quality of life in the Allied neighborhood, and;
WHEREAS, the subcommittee held a series of meetings focused on problem identification, review of existing resources, identification of a model employment system and development of recommendations to strengthen and enhance employment efforts in the Allied area, and;
WHEREAS, the CDBG Commission and the Community Services Commission have reviewed the report and will consider the report recommendations as they review proposal requests for funding for 2009-2010.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council accept the report of the Allied Area Task Force, "Strengthening Employment Opportunities in Allied Drive".
