Authorizing the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Bureau of Communicable Diseases and Preparedness for Tuberculosis Clinical Services.
Body
WHEREAS it is the responsibility of Public Health to ensure care for uninsured individuals at high risk for tuberculosis (TB),
WHEREAS the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Bureau of Communicable Diseases and Preparedness has funds available that will enable Public Health to reimburse local physicians for TB services that are not paid through other health coverage, with reimbursement at the medical assistance rate,
WHEREAS Public Health will receive reimbursement for tuberculin skin testing, medication for treatment of tuberculosis disease and infection, directly-observed therapy, investigation, case management and other related services,
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County has been involved with this program in the past and desires to continue to provide these services, since it is in the interests of public safety to ensure that TB services are available regardless of health coverage,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Bureau of Communicable Diseases and Preparedness for tuberculosis dispensary services for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 and the Director is authorized to sign the agreement.
