Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Montgomery Associates Resource Solutions LLC for extended pumping and testing of the Larkin Street test well. 11th AD.
Body
PREAMBLE: Madison Water Utility retained Montgomery Associates Resource Solutions LLC to monitor, sample and analyze an extended period pump test of the test well located at Larkin Street. Following completion of the pump test, Montgomery and RMT the included analyzing the data collected and developing a well feasibility report on the site. It was projected that the pump test would require 70 days of pumping and be completed by the end of December 2007. Near the end of the 70 days of pumping, water quality data indicated that continued pumping would be necessary to fully evaluate the water quality of the lower aquifer. Pumping was continued for an additional 80 days for a total of 150 days and was stopped on March 14th, the data has been analyzed and a draft report has been prepared. The basic conclusion from this study is "Water quality and hydraulic capacity testing to-date does not exclude this site from consideration for a future production well."

WHEREAS, Pumping and sampling for the Larkin Street test well was extended 12 weeks to fully evaluate the lower aquifer water quality and determine site suitability for a production well.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 not to exceed $17,100 to the Professional Services Agreement with Montgomery Associates Resource Solutions LLC for extended field sampling, data analysis, and reporting on the Larkin test well.
