Fiscal Note
This amendment adds an additional $1,554 in expenditure authority to the 2008 Water Utility Operating Budget. Since this is an amendment to the Water Utility's budget, there is no impact on the tax levy. The split of the additional budgetary authority between salary and benefit accounts will be as follows:

Title
Amending the 2008 Water Utility Operating Budget to fund the revision of position #4093 from an Engineer 1 to an Engineer 2 salary classification effective June 1, 2008.
Body
WHEREAS: Madison Water Utility filled position #4093 as an Engineer 1 in July 2007, and;
WHEREAS: Position #4093 is considered to be a career track position to an Engineer 2, and;
WHEREAS: The current incumbent has progressed satisfactorily in the position and is currently being assigned duties and responsibilities consistent with an Engineer 2 position, and;
WHEREAS: The approved 2008 Madison Water Utility Operating Budget set the salary level for position #4093 at an Engineer 1 level.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2008 Water Utility Operating Budget Permanent Salary Detail be amended by deleting 1.0 FTE Engineer 1 position and creating 1.0 FTE Engineer 2 position with the objective of revising position #4093 from an Engineer 1 position to an Engineer 2 position effective June 1, 2008; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the 2008 Water Utility Operating Budget be amended by adding $1,554 in incremental salary and benefits expenditure authority to fund the Engineer 2 position.
