Report of the Mayor regarding appointments to the Vending Oversight Committee.

The Common Council adopted changes to MGO 9.12 on October 2, 2007 (ORD-07-00138, ID 06629) that affected the composition of the Vending Oversight Committee (VOC). The ordinance created new positions of non-voting "Technical Advisors” and also reduced the size of the voting membership of the VOC. Shortly thereafter, the Council approved a report of the Mayor modifying the appointments based on the changes to MGO 9.12.
However, under the rules in MGO 33.01(4)(f)1, the changes to the VOC composition should not affect the term of existing members and the majority of the changes will not go into effect until current members’ terms expire (several members' terms expire on 6-1-2009.) Therefore, the VOC membership remains as it was prior to December 4, with the exception of Austin McClendon whose term expired 6-1-2007. He now serves in the newly created position of non-voting Technical Advisor.
Other existing members who qualify for the Technical Advisor position will have the option to move into that position when their current term expires. As those terms expire, the positions will be adjusted to reflect ORD-07-00138 which reduced the overall voting membership of the VOC from 7 to 5 members and added 4 new Technical Advisor positions.
