PREAMBLE

The City of Madison and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation have prepared the plans for the reconstruction of East Washington Avenue Segment Four. The reconstruction of East Washington Avenue Segment Four includes reconstructing East Washington Avenue from Marquette Street to Pinecrest Drive, reconstructing Aberg Avenue/ STH 30 from McCormick Ave to Fair Oaks Ave, a cul-de-sac on McCormick Avenue, on and off ramps at Hwy 30 to provide for all traffic movements at the intersection, Fair Oaks Avenue STH 30 on and off ramps, and Fair Oaks Avenue at STH 30.

The project also includes replacement of the sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main as needed, street lighting, and a new East Washington Avenue Bridge over STH 30 including aesthetic treatments. Bike lanes will be provided on East Washington Avenue.

The project will be funded with State and Federal Funds and those funds will cover a significant portion of the cost of reconstruction. The State of Wiscon...
