PREAMBLE
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) has agreed to resurface STH 113 from First Street to Knutson Drive. The design for the project will be funded 25% City of Madison and 75% State. The construction will be funded 100% by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The existing pavement, constructed around 1963, is in very poor condition. The proposed project will resurface the pavement with a new asphalt surface over the existing concrete pavement. No widening or geometric changes are anticipated as this is funded as a pavement maintenance project.
The anticipated construction date is 2011 and 2012 although the WDOT has stated that they will advance it to an early construction year if possible.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the plan for resurfacing STH 113 is hereby approved, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) for the design and construction of STH 113, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute amendments to the initial agreement provided the total City share, initial agreement plus amendments, does not exceed the total City Share provided in this resolution.
