Designating the Wisconsin State Journal as the official newspaper of the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, the Capital Times has been designated as the official newspaper of the City of Madison pursuant to Sec. 985.06, Wis. Stats., as the official City newspaper; and
 
WHEREAS, the Capital Times will cease daily publication and will have no paid circulation effective April 26, 2008; and
 
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin State Journal qualifies as a newspaper which can serve as the official City newspaper of the City of Madison pursuant to Sec. 985.03, Wis. Stats., and
 
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin State Journal will accept all required notices at the same cost as has been accepted by the Capital Times; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is required to request new proposals for the official City newspaper in April, 2008, to be effective in June, 2008, which will establish the official City newspaper for the next year;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pending the receipt of new bids for the official City newspaper, the City of Madison hereby designates the Wisconsin State Journal as its official City newspaper on and after April 26, 2008, until such time as new bids are accepted and approved by the City of Madison.
