Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an inter-governmental agreement with the United States Geological Society (USGS) for continuation of an ongoing rain-garden monitoring project.  
Body
 
WHEREAS, the City has previously entered into a monitoring agreement, as part of our permit to discharge stormwater under the Wisconsin Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (WPDES), with 18 other municipalities, as part of group now addressed as the Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership (MAMSWaP); and
 
WHEREAS, the group of municipalities (MAMSWaP) have previously agreed to monitor raingardens for their effectiveness; and
 
WHEREAS, upon completion of the study as authorized by the existing agreement, there was a surplus of funds (currently in the referenced account number); and
 
WHEREAS, the City, WDNR and the other members of the MAMSWaP group have agreed to that the excess funds would best be used to complete portions of the rain-garden study not previously completed due to cost concerns; and
 
WHEREAS, the USGS is willing and able to complete the work they have been completing on behalf of the MAMSWaP group;   
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the United States Geological Survey to complete the rain-garden study for the MAMSWaP group the initial portion of which was authorized by Resolution Number 60012.
