Amending Section 9.13(6)(e)7.e. of the Madison General Ordinances to allow more than two hotdog vendors to be licensed as Mall/Concourse food vendors.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This amendment would remove the restriction of only allowing two hotdog vendors as Mall/Concourse Food Vendors in the State Street Mall/Capitol Concourse street vending area. Currently, only vendors selling personally prepared food are eligible to sell food within the Mall/Concourse vending area. The section amended below is a list of foods considered to be "personally prepared food." The definition currently includes hotdogs, brats and sausages, but only for a total of two vendors. This amendment would allow unlimited number of hotdog/sausage vendors on the Mall/Concourse, but these vendors would still have to compete in the food cart review and be ranked for quality, originality, etc. in order to be assigned one of the limited sites for food vending on the Mall/Concourse.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Subparagraph e. Paragraph 7. entitled " Personally Prepared Food" of Subdivision (e) entitled "Definitions" of Subsection (6) entitled "Regulations and Procedures for Vending on the State Street Mall/Capitol Concourse" of Section 9.13 entitled "License for Selling on Public Streets" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"e. Up to two (2) vendors selling hHotdogs, bratwurst or other sausages, and including commercially produced buns."
