Title

Authorizing City staff to prepare a “Request for Qualifications” and advertise for Architect consultant services on behalf of the CDA for The Villager Atrium, located at 2202 South Park Street. 

Body

WHEREAS the adopted 2008 Capital Budget includes $6.8 million for a variety of capital projects as part of The Villager redevelopment; and

 

WHEREAS approximately $2.5 million are directly related to the Atrium; and

 

WHEREAS an estimated portion in the amount of approximately $250,000 has been budgeted to assist the CDA retain consultant services to prepare architectural and engineering documentation for constructing these improvements, an Architect must be hired to design this project; and

 

WHEREAS the scope of this project is the development and preparation of architectural and engineering design, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance to the CDA in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction to remodel existing space at The Villager, located at 2202 South Park Street.  Professional design services shall include architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, and other disciplines as required. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes City staff to proceed with “Request for Qualifications” services on behalf of the CDA which shall include consultant advertising, review of consultant submittals, selecting final candidates, interviewing final candidates, negotiating final consultant contract, and preparing an Architect purchase of services contract.
