Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to award and execute a Contract for Professional Services with Strand & Associates for the survey, wetland delineation, hydraulic routing, design, WDNR/USACOE permitting and preparation of bidding documents for The Country Grove Greenway Pedestrian Bridge.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison would like to construct a pedestrian bridge over the main branch of the Country Grove Greenway (a tributary to the Upper Badger Mill Creek), south of East Pass, to allow a more direct, safe and pedestrian friendly route for students west of this location to reach Chavez School; and
WHEREAS, This project has significant regulatory challenges including WDNR/USACOE regulation as a navigable stream with wetlands, and regulation by FEMA as a Floodplain; and
WHEREAS, Strand & Associates has significant experience in design and permitting of these types of projects; and
WHEREAS, Strand & Associates has provided a not to exceed bid of $42,000.00 to complete this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk area authorized to execute a Contract with Strand & Associates to provide design and permitting services for the Country Grove Greenway Pedestrian Bridge.
