Authorizing the execution of an Underground Utility Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a public greenway at 404 Burdette Court.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) is required to relocate its underground gas main regulator facility, which is located at the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Rimrock Road and West Beltline Highway, due to the reconstruction of this intersection by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, MG&E investigated alternative sites for the underground gas main regulator facility and concluded that a location at the southeast quadrant of Rimrock Road and East Badger Road was the most feasible due to the proximity to the main MG&E gas line, which is located in Rimrock Road, and topography along the East Badger Road right-of-way; and

WHEREAS, in order to relocate the underground gas main regulator facility, MG&E has requested a thirty-foot wide underground easement (“Easement”) for the installation of two gas main regulator vaults. Each vault measures eight feet by eight feet and would be located adjacent to the existing East Badger Road right-of-way, in a portion of public greenway at 404 Burdette Court; and

WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division has reviewed and conditionally approves of the Easement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Utility Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:

A strip of land, thirty (30) feet in width, located in part of Lot 25, Block 1, 1st
Addition to Rimrock Heights, lying in part of the SW ¼ of Section 36, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said easement strip being more particularly described as follows:

The Northerly thirty (30) feet of said Lot 25.
