PREAMBLE: The purpose of this resolution is to create the Zoning Code Rewrite Advisory Committee. On November 20, 2007 the Common Council adopted a resolution (File Number 07458) authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract on behalf of Cuningham Group Architecture who will lead a team of consultants to prepare a new Zoning Code and map for the City of Madison. On December 7, 2007 the City and Cuningham Group Architecture (Consultant) entered into a contract whereby Cuningham Group Architecture will prepare a new Zoning Code and map for the City. The scope of services includes creation of an Advisory Committee to work with the Consultant and staff to review and comment on the zoning code and map as they are prepared and make recommendations to the Plan Commission, throughout the code and map drafting process.

WHEREAS, the City entered into a contract with Cuningham Group Architecture who will prepare a new Zoning Code and map for the City; and

WHEREAS the contract includes a provision that the City will create an Advisory Committee to advise the Plan Commission during the Zoning Code rewrite process; and

WHEREAS, The Zoning Code Rewrite Advisory Committee will work with the Consultant to review and comment on the Zoning Code and map as they are drafted and report its recommendations to the Plan Commission.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approves the creation of the Zoning Code Rewrite Advisory Committee.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Zoning Code Rewrite Advisory Committee will include 17 19 members and up to 7 alternates including City alders; board and commission members; neighborhood groups; builders, developers, and designers; business groups, and other individuals appointed by the Mayor and ...
