Fiscal Note
This is an extension of a previous agreement and provides for the reimbursement by UW-Madison of all fixed route and ADA paratransit trips provided by Metro Transit to University of Wisconsin - Madison and University Hospital employees and members of affiliate groups as designated by UW Transportation Services during the contract term. Fixed route trips shall be reimbursed at the rate of $0.88 per ride for academic year 2007-08. Fixed route trips shall be reimbursed at the rate of $0.952 for academic years 2008-09 and 2009-10. Fixed route trips shall be reimbursed at the rate of $1.00 for academic years 2010-11 and 2011-12. There shall be a minimum and a maximum of +/- 8% reimbursement for each academic year over or under the actual ridership of the previous academic year. The estimated revenue for the 2007-08 academic year is $1,121,585.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with the University of Wisconsin - Madison for the continuation of provision of access by its employees to Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit services, with reimbursement to the transit utility for rides by UW and UW Hospital employees and members of affiliate groups as designated by UW Transportation Services for academic years 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12.
Body
WHEREAS this contract was approved by resolution RES-07-00766 enacted on 7/18/2007 with a term of one year with two one-year options to renew; and
WHEREAS the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Metro Transit would like to increase the term so that it is a three year contract with two one-year automatic renewals; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into a three year unlimited ride pass contract with two one-year automatic renewals with the University of Wisconsin - Madison with reimbursement by UW - Madison for all trips taken during the term of the agreement.
