BACKGROUND
After the Common Council adopted changes to the Inclusionary Zoning ordinance, the Council adopted a resolution #-06-00598 on July 18, 2006, to establish an IZ Advisory Oversight Committee to evaluate housing needs, develop gap analysis and waiver methodologies, revise the policies document, recommend marketing strategies, obtain public input and report annually on the implementation of the IZ program.
WHEREAS, the Inclusionary Zoning Advisory Oversight Committee established a work agenda to address the assignments embodied in the resolution,
WHEREAS, the Committee has sought comments from IZ participants and affected parties, and established subcommittees on a market study, on marketing, and on a gap analysis tool,
WHEREAS the Committee has reached a period when it decided to summarize its first year of work and offer a snapshot of the current IZ program in the form of a report to the Common Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council accept the IZ Advisory Oversight Committee's attached report and continue their activities to provide policy guidance to the inclusionary zoning program.
