WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) has been actively involved in pandemic planning,
 
WHEREAS the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) Division of Public Health has received funding from the federal government to help communities plan, prepare, and respond to an influenza pandemic; and
 
WHEREAS, the DHFS is providing a grant of $60,434 for PHMDC to conduct pandemic planning between September 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Madison on behalf of the Department of Public Health for Madison and Dane County is authorized to accept a grant from the State of Wisconsin for $60,434 for the above-described purposes, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign the agreement with the State of Wisconsin, Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Public Health for September 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008, for pandemic planning,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that since Public Health has already meet the 2007 objectives in this grant, that all funds will be included in the 2008 Public Health Operating Budget.
