Fiscal Note
This is an extension of a previous agreement and provides for the reimbursement by UW-Madison of all fixed route and ADA paratransit trips provided by Metro Transit to University of Wisconsin and University Hospital employees during the contract term. Fixed route trips shall be reimbursed at the rate of $0.88 per ride for academic year 2007-08. If the renewal options are exercised, fixed route trips shall be reimbursed at the rate of $0.952 per ride for academic years 2008-09 and 2009-10. There shall be a minimum and a maximum of +/- 8% reimbursement for each academic year over or under the actual ridership of the previous academic year. The estimated revenue for the 2007-08 academic year is $1,121,585. There would be no net fiscal impact on the City General Fund or on the transit utility operating budget.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with the University of Wisconsin - Madison for the continuation of provision of UW-paid access by its employees to Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit services, with reimbursement to the transit utility for UW and UW Hospital employee trips for academic year 2007-08 with two one-year options to renew.

WHEREAS the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Metro Transit wish to continue an Unlimited Ride Pass Program for UW and UW Hospital employees based on principles approved by the Madison Transit and Parking Commission for such agreements;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with the University of Wisconsin - Madison for the purpose of providing a UW/UW Hospital Unlimited Ride Pass Program for academic year 2007-08 with two one year extension options, with reimbursement by the University of Wisconsin - Madison for all trips taken during the term of the agreement.
