Fiscal Note

Under terms of the new contract, the City Engineer would be paid a base salary of $122,672.88 plus an additional $8,000 for services as the Team Leader of the Department of Public Works, for a total salary of $130,672.88.  Funding for the new contract is available in the 2007 Adopted Operating Budget, as $130,526 is available in Engineering and $8,000 is provided in Public Works and Transportation for salary related to this position.  No additional appropriation is required.

Confirming the re-appointment of Larry D. Nelson to the position of City Engineer, Director and Manager of the Engineering Division, Department of Public Works subject to the approval and execution of a five-year employment agreement.

Body

Whereas, Mayor Cieslewicz has re-appointed Larry D. Nelson to the position of City Engineer, Director and Manager of the Engineering Division, Department of Public Works and has recommended to the Common Council that his re-appointment be confirmed; and

Whereas, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Nelson;

Now, therefore, be it resolved that Mr. Nelson's re-appointment to the position of City Engineer, Director and Manager of the Engineering Division, Department of Public Works is hereby confirmed, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Nelson.
