Acceptance of equipment and supplies for the Fire Department Heavy Rescue Team (HURT).

The Madison Fire Department is a member of a Regional Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT)-Task Force 2 for the State of Wisconsin. The La Crosse Fire Department is the grant coordinator for our region.
The grant application for equipment and supplies is awarded to the regional team. The City submits its request to La Crosse for inclusion in the grant application and La Crosse makes the purchases upon award for all departments that are members of Task Force 2.
The Madison Fire Department has requested speciality equipment and supplies and one heavy tow vehicle. We can use the equipment for other City responses and will be responsible for maintenance on the vehicle and equipment. We have use of these items as long as Madison Fire is a member of the regional HURT. Cost for maintaining the vehicle can be absorbed within existing budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City accept any equipment and supplies awarded to the regional Heavy Urban Rescue Team for use by the Fire Department.
