Authorizing the City to contract with Community Shares of Wisconsin, Inc. to act as the fiscal agent for the 2008 Employees Combined Campaign.
Body
WHEREAS,  a single combined campaign on behalf of charitable organizations which allows for the convenient combination of the efforts of several umbrella groups representing over 250 agencies to be presented in a once-a-year at the work site campaign has been implemented by the City of Madison and its employees since 1982; and
WHEREAS, one of the participating umbrella groups, Community Shares of Wisconsin (CSW), has been selected as fiscal agent to conduct and administer the 2008 Campaign for City employees on behalf of the various charitable agencies; and
WHEREAS, utilizing a fiscal agent saves substantial staff time and volunteer efforts on behalf of the employees of the City; and
WHEREAS, CSW acted as fiscal agent for the campaign in 2002 through 2007, utilizes fiscal procedures to ensure accountability, and thus it is in the public interest to allow CSW to provide the services of fiscal agency in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a contract with Community Shares of Wisconsin to act as fiscal agent for the 2008 City Employees Combined Campaign for a fee of $7,564.29 with the possibility of three one-year renewal terms.
