Commending Alderperson Ken Golden for his dedicated service to his constituents and the City of Madison from April 18, 1989 to April 17, 2007.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ken Golden was elected on April 4,1989 to represent the 10th District; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ken Golden served on the ADA Transit Subcommittee to the Transit and Parking Commission (lead sponsor on creating the subcommittee), Allied TIF Set-Aside Ad Hoc Committee, Allied Area Task Force, Board of Education-Common Council Liaison Committee, Board of Estimates, City-County Liaison Committee, Common Council Organizational Committee, Community Services Commission, Joint West Campus Area Committee, Kohl Center Advisory Committee, Long Range Transportation Planning Commission, Madison Metro Long Range Strategic Planning Commission, Metropolitan Planning Organization (chair), Overture Project Advisory Committee,Ad Hoc Committee to Develop a Parking Strategic Plan, Parking Task Force, Pedestrian/Bicycle/Motor Vehicle Commission, Plan Commission, Plan Commission Subcommittee on Adult Entertainment Ordinance, Regent Street-South Campus Master Plan Steering Committee, Dane County Regional Plan Commission (chair), Transit and Parking Commission, Transport 2020, Streetcar Study Committee, TIF Review Board, and the Verona Road/West Beltline Advisory Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ken Golden was appointed as the City's ambassador to Pluto on March 27, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ken Golden is most proud of working on the passage of the city's "Big Box" ordinance, developing bus pass programs and ways to increase Madison Metro ridership, developing strategies to address infill growth, securing paratransit funding from the state and working on the city's traffic calming program; and,
WHEREAS, he has immensely enjoyed working with the 10th District neighborhood and facilitating neighborhood meetings on the Edgewood College development,...
