Amending the 2007 City Operating Budget to appropriate $2,164 from the Contingent Reserve and authorizing the expenditure of an additional $2,164 total for hourly salary expense ($2,010) and benefits ($154) in the 2007 Council office adopted operating budget in order to fund an increase in Alderperson compensation effective April 17, 2007.
Body
WHEREAS, Legistar File #05769 was introduced to Council on March 6, 2007 and is a Charter Ordinance that proposes an increase in the Mayor's salary effective with the new Mayoral term beginning April 17,2007; and
WHEREAS, a subsequent Substitute Charter Ordinance has been introduced to Council that proposes a salary increase for Alderpersons, as well, effective with the new Alder terms beginning April 17, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the 2007 Council Office adopted operating budget does not include funding sufficient for the additional salary and benefit expense of $2,164.
Now, Therefore be it resolved that the Common Council appropriates $2,164 from the Contingent Reserve to fund additional salary and benefit expenses for Alderperson compensation; and
Be it fINALLY resolved that the 2007 Council Office adopted operating budget be amended as follows:
Hourly Salaries: $2,010 (GN01-51200-20000)
Benefits: $ 154 (GN01-52000-20000)
