Commending Retired Medical Director, Dr. Marvin Birnbaum, after 30 years of dedicated service to the Fire Department and the citizens of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Dr. Marvin Birnbaum began as Medical Director for the City of Madison Fire Department in 1976 and retired from the Fire Department on December 31, 2006 after 30 years of service.
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Birnbaum has been a leader in developing the University of Wisconsin - Emergency Medical Services program that has created a high standard of pre-hospital care for the City.
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Birnbaum has been a trusted guide and resource for City of Madison paramedics during medical calls.
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Birnbaum continues to remain active in developing a plan of disaster preparedness for the City of Madison.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City wishes to extend its appreciation to Dr. Birnbaum for all his years of dedicated service to the community.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that he will be missed and we wish him the best in his retirement from the Fire Department.
