Fiscal Note
This three-year agreement (with options for extension) provides for the reimbursement by UW-Madison for free access by UW-Madison students to Metro Transit for fixed route and ADA paratransit services pursuant to the TPC-approved unlimited ride pass tariff. The total amount billable by Metro for all fixed route fares under the terms of the agreement during the first year shall be based on ridership x $0.88 per fixed-route ride, for an estimated $2,118,947.60 in the first year of the contract. There shall be a minimum and a maximum of +/- 8% for the 2007-08 academic year over or under the actual 2006-07 ridership estimated to be 2.4 million. For the 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years, the per ride rate will be $0.952. If the extension options are exercised, the per ride rate for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years will be $1.00. Paratransit rides will be billed at the rate of the applicable peak or off-peak ADA paratransit fare in TPC-approved fare tariff. Contract revenues have been anticipated in the 2007 Transit Utility operating budget and will be included in future Metro operating budgets.

WHEREAS, UW-Madison and Metro Transit have had a very successful and productive contracting arrangement for an unlimited ride pass program for UW students for years, and both parties wish to extend their agreement for a three-year period with the option for one two-year or two one-year extensions;
WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated a contract which meets all TPC criteria set in advance for unlimited ride pass agreements;
