Title

Approving the formation of an Air Quality Subcommittee to the Commission on the Environment.

Body

WHEREAS a healthy environment is essential for a productive citizenry and economy;

WHEREAS the mission of the Air Quality Subcommittee is to devise an effective action program of policies and activities that will lead to the improved health of city residents through better air quality;

WHEREAS the actions would be compatible with the City of Madison Climate Protection Plan;

WHEREAS it is desireable to improve Madison's status as a 'Fit City' by eliminating the need for people to stay insdie to protect their health due to poor air quality;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following people be approved to serve on the Commission on the Environment Air Quality Subcommittee:

Theresa Stabo (Chair), COE Member

Jeffrey Schimpff, Department of Natural Resources

Satya Rhodes-Conway, Center on Wisconsin Strategy

Jennifer Feyerherm, Sierra Club Air Specialist
