Fiscal Note
The proposed Professional Service Agreement with (Consultant to be selected March 9, 2007) for site selection, public participation, and a DNR approved well siting study for a replacement well for the Utility's existing Well 3 will not exceed $50,000. Funds are included in the 2007 Water Utility Operating Budget.
Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a Professional Service Agreement with Montgomery Associates for the completion of a site selection, public participation program, and a DNR approved well siting study for a replacement well for the Utility's existing Well 3 (AD 2, 6, 15).
Body
WHEREAS iron, manganese and carbon tetrachloride water quality issues at Unit Well 3 have greatly impacted the Utility's ability to use this well; and
WHEREAS Unit Well 3 has lived out its useful life and is in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS Madison Water Utility wishes to evaluate the east isthmus area of the City for an acceptable and WDNR approvable replacement well site; and
WHEREAS Madison Water Utility wishes to conduct a public participation program in conjunction with the site selection for a new well on the east isthmus; and
WHEREAS Madison Water Utility has budgeted funds in the 2007 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS Madison Water Utility has advertised for consultant services, received and evaluated proposals, and negotiated a Professional Services Agreement;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Montgomery Associates for the completion of a site selection, public participation program, and a DNR approved well siting study for a replacement well for the Utility's existing Well 3.
