Additional cost to the City of Madison is not to exceed a total of $9,080.00. for Addendum #4 and $4,800.00 for Addendum #5. Funds are available in Account No. ESTM-54950-810394-00-53W0204.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute Addendum Nos. 4 & 5 to the Contract for Professional Services with Strand Associates Inc. to review/study the condition of the Lake Wingra Dam. (15th & 17th ADs)
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison has previously entered into a contract for Professional Services with Strand Associates Inc. to review/study the condition of the Lake Wingra Dam, in accord with orders from the WDNR; and
WHEREAS, Strand has completed previous work on the Starkweather Creek Floodplain for the City of Madison; and
WHEREAS, Strand is currently working on a floodplain analysis of Starkweather Creek, for the City, as part of the Dane County FEMA restudy (Addendum #1, #2, & #3 to Wingra Dam); and
WHEREAS, for Addendum #4 additional floodplain analysis is necessary, as part of the design of the proposed bike path and bridge crossing of East Washington, along Starkweather from Milwaukee Street to Aberg Avenue; and
WHEREAS, for Addendum #5, floodplain analysis of the Portage Road Tributary to Starkweather Creek is needed to document errors made by the WDNR, as part of their County wide floodplain remapping; and
WHEREAS, the work for Addendum #5 must be completed within 90 days from February 9, 2007 to comply with FEMA regulations; and
WHEREAS, Strand & Associates are qualified to do this work and have indicated that they can complete it in accord within the City's time requirement:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk area authorized to execute addendum #4 & #5 to the existing Lake Wingra Dam agreement with Strand Associates Inc. to provide additional consulting services, as further detailed in the scope of services, for the Starkweather Creek Floodplain Study.
