Title
Authorizing the Mayor and other City officials to sign an agreement with the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System (UW) for the use of City fiber optic communication strands.
Body
WHEREAS, the UW desires to transmit information on City fiber optic strands between its campus and various buildings and facilities in Madison; and
WHEREAS, City Traffic Engineering has installed and maintains fiber optic strands and a conduit system in the downtown, campus, and near-west areas; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use some UW fiber optic strands on campus;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and other City officials are authorized to sign an agreement with the UW for the use of City fiber optic communication strands, with the initial term being five years, subject to renewal and cancellation provisions.
