Preamble
The Hanson Neighborhood Plan and the Rattman Neighborhood plan call for the realignment of the Portage Road Bridge now traversing the interstate in a north-south direction to an alignment more east-west and in line with Hanson Road. American Family Insurance has platted the lands east of the interstate consistent with the Rattman Neighborhood Plan and has requested the project to construct a new overpass. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has prepared plans for the Portage Road (Hanson Road) Overpass of I 39/90/94 consistent with the neighborhood plans.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has agreed to fund the majority of the cost of the bridge, American Family has agreed to construct the east approach to the bridge including a roundabout on the east side. The City of Madison will construct the west approach and acquire any needed right of way on the west side of the inters...
