Title: Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Dane County for the following purposes in the calendar year 2007: (1) providing the Transit Utility with MA waiver Community Integration Program (CIP) funding and State 85.21 funding by Dane County for the provision of paratransit services; (2) providing Dane County with State 85.20 funding by the Transit Utility for the County's provision of accessible transportation for persons unable to use the Transit Utility's paratransit services within its service area.

Fiscal Note
Dane County would provide an amount estimated to be not less than $1,496,406 (approximately 57.46% of costs) of MA Waiver (CIP) funding to Metro Transit to provide paratransit service to people with developmental disabilities and would also provide State 85.21 funding in the amount of $131,690 to Metro Transit for the transportation of elderly persons and persons with disabilities. Metro Transit would provide Dane County with State 85.20 funding not to exceed $43,000 to support the transportation of eligible disabled persons unable to use Metro's paratransit service. Funding for these programs is included in the MetroTransit's 2007 Operating Budget.

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation provides State 85.21 funding for Dane County for the operation of transit services for persons who are elderly and/or persons with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, each year Dane County provides the Transit Utility with a portion of its 85.21 allocation to assist the Transit Utility in the operation of its paratransit services, and

WHEREAS, the State Department of Health and Family Services contracts with Dane County to operate the CIP 1 and other MA waivers for residents of Dane County and receives reimbursement from the DHFS for the Federal share (approximately 57.46%) of the costs of accessible transportation for waiver program participants; and
