Fiscal Note
Cost associated with this double-fill total approximately $5,650 and will be accommodated by the management of Public Health salary savings. No additional appropriation is required. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

To authorize a double-fill in the Public Health Nursing Supervisor position from February 27, 2007 through March 26, 2007.
Body
WHEREAS, the incumbent Public Health Nursing Supervisor is to be paid through March 26, 2007 and the new Public Health Nursing Supervisor will be hired effective February 27, 2007 in order to facilitate an orderly transition of responsibility, particularly at this time with the merging of the Madison Department of Public Health and the Dane County Division of Public Health;
WHEREAS, MGO 3.35 (6)(h) states: "The Human Services Director, with the approval of the Mayor, and of the Common Council if the action requires the expenditure of more than $2,000 and/or is for longer than 30 days, is authorized to double-fill any position for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days unless such period is extended by action of the Common Council."
WHEREAS, the double-fill of the Public Health Nursing Supervisor position requires the expenditure of more than $2,000; and
WHEREAS, funding for these expenditures is available in 2007 Public Health Operating Budget;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the double filling of the Public Health Nursing Supervisor is approved for the period of February 19, 2007 through March 23, 2007.
