Fiscal Note

Routine maintenance will be required and will be incorporated with the maintenance of other City owned works of art. No additional expenditure required.

Accepting ownership of the artwork/gate "Ripple Effect" located at the Goodman Swimming Pool.

Body

WHEREAS the Madison Arts Commission mission is to make the arts an essential part of the lives of all of Madison's citizens; and

WHEREAS the Common Council adopted Resolution 05-00334, ID 00588 on March 29, 2005 adopting the design and implementation of a Public Art work, not to exceed $72,500.00 for the exterior of the Goodman Swimming Pool; and

WHEREAS one of the conditions of the contract requires that upon completion of the sculpture and other documentation being submitted by the artist, that the City of Madison will accept ownership of the sculpture; and

WHEREAS the sculpture and gates has been completed and the required documentation has been filed with the City.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison hereby accepts ownership of the Madison "Ripple Effect" Sculpture and gates.
