Body
WHEREAS the 2006 Capital Budget includes an amount of $100,000 for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,
 
WHEREAS the scope of this project is to design a new warehouse storage building for the Traffic Engineering and Parking Utility Divisions. The warehouse storage building is needed for material and equipment storage. The building is non-insulated without heating or cooling. Preparation of design plans, specifications, and details are required to construct the warehouse building, and,
 
WHEREAS the goal of this building project is to demolish the existing deteriorating warehouse storage building complex and construct a replacement warehouse storage building. Approximately $1,200,000 will be required in 2007 to construct the facility, and,
 
WHEREAS the project will create a green space and bike trail adjacent to Wingra Creek that is consistent with the neighborhood plan, and,
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes City Staff to proceed with "Request for Qualifications" services which shall include consultant advertising, review of consultant submittals, selecting final candidates, interviewing final candidates, negotiating final consultant contract, and preparing an Architect services contract.
