Title
Approving a contract with Midwest Alarm Services, Inc for installation of fire alarm and detection systems in five fire stations.
Body
The City was awarded a grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the installation of fire alarm and detection systems in five fire stations. The stations that will have systems installed are located at 316 W. Dayton St., 1217 Williamson St., 4418 Cottage Grove Rd., 201 North Midvale Blvd. and 1517 Troy Dr.
City Purchasing sent out proposal 7793-0-2006/MM requesting contractors bid on this project. Four vendors submitted proposals and it is recommended that the contract be awarded to Midwest Alarm Services, Inc. for $119,808.
The City must have these alarm systems installed before the end of the performance period. The vendor has indicated that installation can be completed by October 31, 2006.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council approves award of the contract to Midwest Alarm Services, Inc.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign a contract for $119,808 with Midwest Alarm Services, Inc for the installation of fire alarm systems in five fire stations.
