Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a contract with CTR Systems Parking, Inc. for maintenance of software and equipment for the Parking Utility revenue equipment.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility has installed over $2.6 million in equipment and software from CTR Systems Parking, Inc. ("CTR") to operate the revenue collection devices at all Parking Utility ramps and surface lots; and
 
WHEREAS, the equipment and software is no longer covered under the installer/manufacturer's original equipment warranty; and
 
WHEREAS, some of the equipment and software is proprietary and serviceable only by CTR; and
 
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility intends to perform most of the equipment maintenance in-house, but some of the parts are only available through CTR and its suppliers, and Parking Utility would like to arrange a process for ordering and servicing such replacement parts at a reasonable price; and
 
WHEREAS, the software maintenance, support, and upgrades must be provided by CTR, and
 
WHEREAS, the 2006 Parking Utility Operating Budget has budgeted $47,900 as the estimated annual cost for such software and equipment maintenance and parts replacement; and
 
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility has negotiated a one-year maintenance contract with CTR at a cost of $47,900, as well as pricing for annual renewals not to exceed the average percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for the states of Wisconsin and Florida;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign a contract with CTR Systems Parking, Inc. for the above-mentioned services, for a period of one (1) year and up to four (4) annual renewals; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City Traffic Engineer and Parking Manager is authorized to sign and execute on behalf of the city, up to four (4)  one-year renewals of the above contract, pending funding approval by the Common Council.
