Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison ("CITY") and Bray Associates Architects, Inc. ("BRAY") entered into a contract for purchase of architectural and engineering design services for the Goodman Park Maintenance Facility (formerly Franklin Field) renovation project on or about May 3, 2005, authorized by Resolution No 61393; and
WHEREAS, in support of the "Building A Green Capital City" initiative and a desire to build an environmentally beneficial project, the City is interested in seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for the Goodman Park Maintenance Facility project;
WHEREAS, the additional cost to seek LEED certification for this project is hirty one thousand five hundred and ninety dollars ($31,590); and
WHEREAS, the original contract between City and Bray will need to be amended to reflect the increased cost and change in scope of services descriptions necessary for seeking LEED certification;
WHEREAS, the proposed funding source for this contract amendment is the 2006 "Miscellaneous Capital Projects 310 Energy Efficiency Improvements."
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council hereby authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an amendment to Contract #5848 between the City and Bray Associates Architects to allow the City to seek LEED certification for the Goodman Park Maintenance Facilit...
