Revenue for this contract is included in the Fire Department's annual operating budget.

Title

SUBSTITUTE - Approving a contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Madison Fire Department to provide services beginning March 1, 2006.

Body

The Madison Fire Department provides fire protection services to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.  The new contract period is March 1, 2006 - February 28, 2007.  The contract also includes 4 option years.  

The annual compensation rate will be $37,248 for the first year. The annual compensation rates for the option years are:

Option Year 1 - $39,108

Option Year 2 - $41,064

Option Year 3 - $43,116

Option Year 4 - $45,276

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves the Fire Department to continue providing services under this a contract to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital; with  the Mayor and City Clerk aunthorized to execute all necessary contract documents; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that approval of this contract includes the four option years if awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
