PREAMBLE
The Common Council provided authorization for the City of Madison to enter into an agreement with Wisconsin Department of Transportation for a Highway Improvement Project to serve the Todd Drive Beltline Highway Interchange including the addition of traffic signals, the resurfacing of the Beltline Highway Frontage Road, and the installation of bike and pedestrian facilities to serve the area on 11/15/2005 (RES-05-00910, File Number 02151, Enactment Date 11/18/2005).
As part of the project, Madison Gas & Electric Company will underground its overhead facilities along the W. Beltline Frontage Road from Grandview Boulevard to approximately 700 feet east of Todd Drive. MG&E will pay for the cost to underground its facilities from Grandview Boulevard to 700 feet west of Todd Drive ( 2000 linear feet). The City of Madison will fund the undergrounding from 700 feet west of Todd Drive to a point approximately 700 feet east of Todd Drive (1400 linear feet). MG&E will also coordinate the undergrounding of those facilities owned by others that share its poles.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Madison Gas & Electric Company for the undergrounding of overhead utilities in conjunction with the Todd Drive Beltline Highway Interchange project.
