I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.

Pursuant to Sec. 3.30(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."

Rationale: Ms.  Pascual founded the first all-inclusive magazine for Asian Americans in Wisconsin -- Asian Wisconzine. Her journalism and public relations skills, combined with her strong contacts in the Asian community, will make hers an important voice on the committee.
 
EVA M. SCHULTE, 33 Farwell St., 53704 (6th A.D.) - will serve as a Humanitarian/Cultural/Educational Representative.  Ms. Schulte is employed by SERRV International (non-profit alternative trade organization) as an international development project manager.  She has participated in many events held in Madison by various sister city organizations.
 
DAVID V. MOLLENHOFF, 1501 Morrison St., 53703 (6th A.D.) - will represent the Downtown Rotary.  Mr. Mollenhoff is a historian/writer and real estate owner/manager.  He has been actively involved in international projects for the Rotary.
