Title
Approval of the Historic Preservation Plan Request of Proposals Scope of Services
Body
WHEREAS, During the development of the Downtown Plan, several commissions stressed the need for a City Historic Preservation Plan to ensure that historic preservation remains an effective tool to preserve the City’s historic resources; and
WHEREAS, During the revision of the Landmarks Ordinance, the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee and members of the public stressed the need for a City Historic Preservation Plan to guide the preservation program; and
WHEREAS, The 2016 Capital Budget includes a total of $250,000 in 2016 and 2017 to be utilized to hire consultants as needed and for expenses associated with the completion of the plan; and
WHEREAS, The Capital Budget requires that any scope and Request for Proposals for expenditure of these funds will be recommended by the Landmarks Commission before being submitted to the Common Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, The Landmarks Commission has reviewed the Scope of Services of the Request for Proposals and is recommending the language to the Common Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Division is authorized to release the Request for Proposals for the Historic Preservation Plan with the Scope of Services as recommended by the Landmarks Commission.
