Report of City Attorney dated March 24, 2005 re: Lobbying Ordinance Activities.

Sec. 2.40(12)(d) of the Madison General Ordinances requires the City Attorney to annually file a report with respect to enforcement activities under the ordinance.
During calendar year 2004, our office received no complaints and pursued no enforcement activities under the ordinance.
Our office did announce that we would be engaging in more extensive enforcement activities under the ordinance beginning in 2005. Because the first filing date for 2005 is the end of April, we anticipate beginning this activity shortly after May 1, 2005. In addition, our office has been very involved in drafting and considering the pending amendments to the lobbying ordinance.
