Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a $20,000 contract with the Madison Public Library Foundation to create a mural alley behind the Hawthorne Library on Madison’s east side. The project will be funded by the Municipal Art Fund. The Municipal Art Fund is a part of the Planning Division’s capital budget and receives $100,000 annually. This contract will be funded by the Fund’s 2015 appropriation.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into contract with the Madison Public Library Foundation for the creation of a mural alley.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council approved Resolution ID #48044 (RES-17-00655) on August 1, 2017 approving the funding in the amount of $20,000 for a mural alley to be created in collaboration with the Library Bubbler project, to be located behind Hawthorne Library at the Madison East Shopping Center; and
WHEREAS, to effectuate this project and the funding a contract must be signed between the City and the Madison Public Library Foundation setting forth the obligations of both parties as described in that resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Madison Public Library Foundation for $20,000 to pay for expenses related to the mural alley behind the Madison East Shopping Center as described in RES-17-00655.
